Brigitte Crottaz

Brigitte Crottaz (born October 6, 1957 in Lausanne ; resident in Saint-Barthélemy VD ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and doctor from the canton of Vaud . She has been a member of the National Council since February 2018 .

Life

Crottaz passed her Latin-Greek Matura in 1975 with a specialization in "special mathematics" and then studied medicine at the University of Lausanne . In 1982 she successfully passed her state examination before working as a specialist in internal medicine , endocrinology and diabetology . She then did post-graduate training at the Center Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) and was head of the Internal Medicine Clinic for four years. She is currently working in a Lausanne group practice.

Crottaz is a committee member of the Swiss Patient Association (Romande section) and an expert on the cantonal diabetes program Vaud.

She lives in Epalinges and has a grown son.

politics

Crottaz joined the SP in 2004 in response to Christoph Blocher's election to the Federal Council . From 2005 to 2018 she was a councilor in Epalinges, from 2006 to 2012 she was also a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud, where she was a member of the public health commission.

In February 2018, she succeeded the Vaud SP National Councilor Jean Christophe Schwaab , who resigned for family reasons. She is a member of the Security Policy Commission (SiK).
