Hannes Schedel

Hannes Schedel (born May 5, 1960 in Passau ; † April 14, 2020 there ) was a German doctor .

Life

Schedel was born in Passau as the son of the physician couple Franz and Ernerose Schedel. He studied human medicine at the Universities of Regensburg and Munich . After completing his studies, he worked for six months as an assistant doctor in the clinic founded by his father specializing in oncology . Then he moved to the radiological clinic and polyclinic at LMU Munich in the same position .

After being recognized as a doctor for radiology , he was senior physician in the radiation and polyclinic of the Virchow Clinic in Berlin from 1992 . In 1994 he completed his habilitation and was appointed senior physician in charge of the radiation and polyclinic. In the same year the family founded a rehabilitation center specializing in oncology and orthopedics in Lübben (Spreewald) , which Hannes Schedel ran together with his siblings. When his father died in August 1996, he returned to Lower Bavaria to take over the management of Prof. Schedel's clinic in Kellberg (Passau district). From 2003 he was Associate Professor at the University of Oradea .

Schedel was married and had three children from his first marriage. He died during the COVID-19 pandemic of the consequences of a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
