Hannes Wagner (born May 24, 1986 ) is a former German ski racer . He started for SV Hindelang and was German champion six times .

biography

Wagner contested his first FIS race in December 2001. In January 2004 he drove his first European Cup race and on November 9, 2007 he achieved his first top 10 result in this racing series in ninth place in the indoor competition in Landgraaf . His best result at the Junior World Championships , in which he participated from 2004 to 2006, was the 16th place in the slalom in 2006 . Wagner's first major success was winning the German Downhill Championship in 2007 , in which he was only a hundredth of a second ahead of the two second-placed Stephan Keppler and Johannes Stehle . In 2008 he was able to repeat this victory and also won the title for the first time in the Super G and Super Combined. In March 2010 , another German championship title was added in the downhill. Two weeks before that, he had achieved his best results in the European Cup with second place in the super combined and sixth place in the super G of Sarntal - Reinswald .

On December 20, 2008, Wagner competed in the World Cup for the first time . In the downhill from Val Gardena he finished 37th. During the next two years he made nine more World Cup appearances, but did not win any World Cup points in any of his races. His best World Cup result was 32nd place in the super combination of Wengen on January 15, 2010. With the participation in the German championships 2011, in which he won his second title in the super combination and the sixth German championship title, ended Wagner his career. In the 2011/12 season he worked as a trainer for the German Ski Association .
