Hans-Achaz Freiherr von Lindenfels
Hans-Achaz Freiherr von Lindenfels (born January 14, 1932 in Nuremberg ; † January 1, 2017 in Landsberg am Lech ) was a German lawyer and local politician .
Career
Hans-Achaz Freiherr von Lindenfels studied law in Munich after graduating from high school in Amberg . He then joined the Bavarian civil service as an administrative lawyer.
In 1970 he was elected mayor of the independent city of Marktredwitz as a non-party candidate . He stayed in office for 20 years. During his tenure, the city lost its freedom of district. When the GDR opened its border in 1989, around 60,000 GDR citizens picked up their welcome money in Marktredwitz . After being voted out of office in 1990, he worked as a consultant in Adorf / Vogtland and then on behalf of the Bavarian City Council in Dresden. Most recently von Lindenfels was managing director of the Dresden municipal housing association.
