Hans-Christian Hausenberg (born  September 18, 1998 ) is an Estonian athlete who specializes in the decathlon , but also competes in various individual disciplines, especially the long jump .

Career

Hans-Christian Hausenberg has achieved several national and international successes so far. He gained his first international experience at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Utrecht in 2013 , where he won the silver medal in the pole vault with a crossed 4.82 m, failed to make a valid attempt in the triple jump and won the Estonian 4 x 100 meter Season took seventh place in 43.78 s. The following year he qualified in the long jump for the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where he made it to the A-final, but did not bring about a valid attempt there. In 2015 he took part in the youth world championships in Cali , Colombia , where he won the bronze medal in the decathlon with 7657 points behind the German Niklas Kaul (8002 points) and Ludovic Besson from France (7678 points). A year later he started at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he came in eleventh with 7,370 points.

In 2017 he started the long jump at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where he finished seventh with 7.78 m. In addition, he reached the semi-finals in the 110-meter hurdles and was eliminated there with 14.21 s, while he failed with the relay with 40.81 s in the lead. After he had only competed at national level in 2018, Hausenberg took part in the European Games in Minsk in 2019 , where he reached 29th place in the 100-meter run in 11.12 s. He then finished with a distance at the U23 European Championships in Gävle fourth place of 7.86 m.

In 2019, Hausenberg became the Estonian champion in the long jump outdoors. In the hall he won the 60-meter run and over 60 m hurdles in 2019 and in 2020 he won the long and pole vault.
