Hans-Cord Sarnighausen

Hans-Cord Sarnighausen (born July 23, 1936 in Mulsum near Stade ) is a German judge , genealogist and regional historian .

Life

Hans-Cord Sarnighausen was born in 1936 as the son of a doctor and attended the Mulsum elementary school from 1942 during the Second World War . In the post-war period he was a student at the Stader Athenaeum in 1947 , where he graduated from high school in 1956.

From 1956 to 1960 he studied law, initially in Freiburg and Bonn, and received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen in 1961 after submitting his dissertation The Abuse in the Law of Restraints of Competition .

In 1965, Sarnighausen took up the position of judicial assessor at the Lüneburg Administrative Court. In 1968 he became a judge at the Lüneburg Administrative Court , and in 1973 a judge at the Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court . In 1975 he took over the deputy chairmanship of the Senate. In 1980 he became the presiding judge of the Building Law Chamber at the Lüneburg Administrative Court. From 1988 to 1998 he again took on the duties of deputy chairman of the building senate at the OVG Lüneburg.

Sarnighausen is a corresponding member of the Hamburg Genealogical Society . He wrote numerous genealogical and historical publications on Northern Germany, up to 2011 alone around 290 titles, including almost 40 titles on the district lawyers of Kurhannover .

Hans-Cord Sarnighausen worked for many years as chairman of a parish in Lüneburg and as a member of the local parish council. As a tenor he sang in the choirs of the Lüneburg Cantoreies of St. Johannis and St. Michaelis . For more than 45 years he also participated in the musical engagement of his wife. In 1986 he co-founded the Barnstedt Musisches Förderverein, which - for many years under the chairmanship of the Barnstedter manor owner Klaus von Estorff (1928–2014) - primarily promotes young artists through concerts in the historic manor chapel.

Sarnighausen has been married since 1965 and has three children.
