Hans-Georg Frey

Hans-Georg Frey (born July 27, 1956 in Stuttgart ) is a German industrial manager and has been chairman of the East Asian Association of German Business since 2014 .

Life and professional history

Hans-Georg Frey studied law from 1977 to 1982 in Erlangen , Lausanne ( Switzerland ) and Tübingen and graduated in 1982 with the first state examination in law. After passing the second state examination in 1986, he began working for the Spindelfabrik Süßen GmbH in Baden-Württemberg . From 1992 to 1999 he completed a part-time Master of Business Administration degree at the Universities of Zurich and Albany , United States . In 1996 he became managing director for sales, marketing, human resources and human resources. At the end of 2001, he moved to Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH as an authorized signatory, where he has been Managing Director Sales since 2003.

In May 2007 he became CEO of the family business Jungheinrich AG in Hamburg , the third largest warehouse technology company in the world, and led it for 12 years. On September 1, 2019, he switched to the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Frey has been a member of the advisory board of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg since 2008 , was also a member of the advisory board of HSH Nordbank from 2008 to 2010 and was also appointed to the supervisory board of the family business Fielmann AG in July 2010 .

Volunteering

On October 22, 2014, Frey was elected chairman and thus the successor of Jürgen Fitschen by the general assembly of the East Asian Association, one of the five supporting associations of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) . He also acts there as chairman of the India country committee . He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of AFS Intercultural Encounters , one of the world's largest networks of exchange organizations for young people.
