Hans-Georg Predel

Hans-Georg Predel (* 1959 in Wiedenbrügge ) is a German sports doctor and university professor .

Life

Predel passed his Abitur in 1978 in Wunstorf and then studied human medicine in Aachen and Bonn until 1984 . In 1985 he passed his state examination in medicine and received his license to practice medicine, and in the same year he completed his doctoral thesis at the University of Bonn.

In 1984 and 1985 Predel worked as an intern at the University Hospital Zurich in the field of internal medicine, from 1985 to 1990 he held a position as a research assistant in internal medicine and cardiology at the University Hospital Bonn , and from 1990 to 1992 Predel did research stays in the United States ( University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University ) as well as at the University Hospital Basel .

In 1992 he took up a position as senior physician at the Institute for Cardiovascular Research and Sports Medicine at the German Sport University Cologne . In 1998 his habilitation was accepted at the sports university. In 2000 he rose from senior physician to professor, in 2001 he took over the management of the Institute for Circulatory Research and Sports Medicine.

His main research interests include internal medicine, sports medicine and cardiovascular diseases. Among other things, he dealt with physical activity in the case of obesity, high blood pressure and sports for the elderly.
