On March 25, 1992, just two months after he was signed as a coach, he was dismissed by the club from the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. He was followed by Horst Köppel , who had previously worked as sports director for the Düsseldorf company . In 1994/95 Gede coached the U-23 national team of Iran. In the season 1996/97 Gede moved to KSV Hessen Kassel , where he was released early. In 1998 Gede was national coach in Iran, then from 1999 to 2001 he was involved with the Westphalian league club SV Lippstadt 08 .
