Hans-Jürgen Junghans

Hans-Jürgen Junghans (born January 27, 1922 in Hanover ; † July 15, 2003 in Salzgitter ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Junghans began studying engineering at the Technical University of Hanover in 1940 . From 1941 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier. He then continued his studies and graduated in 1950. From 1950 to 1953 he was managing director of the International Youth Community Services eV in Hanover. From 1953 he worked as a senior engineer and assistant manager at Hüttenwerke Salzgitter AG . From 1963 he was head of the main training and promotion department. From 1972 to 1984 he was a member of the board of management of Salzgitter AG , which sent him to the supervisory board of Salzgitter Wohnungs AG and Salzgitter Maschinen AG .

Political party

Junghans participated in the founding of the socialist university group at the TH Hannover in 1947 . In 1950 he joined the SPD . From 1968 to 1974 he was chairman of the SPD district association in Braunschweig .

MP

From 1957 to 1987 Junghans was a member of the German Bundestag . In 1957 he entered parliament via the state list of the SPD Lower Saxony. In 1961 he won the direct mandate in the Gandersheim - Salzgitter constituency and in the subsequent elections in the Salzgitter constituency . From 1961 to 1965 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Economic Property of the Federation and then until 1969 Chairman of the Committee on Federal Assets. From 1969 to June 13, 1972 he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. From 1969 to 1983 he headed the economic policy working group of the SPD parliamentary group.
