Hans-Jürgen Moog

Hans-Jürgen Moog (born June 13, 1932 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German local politician in Frankfurt am Main.

After studying law , Moog became a lawyer . In 1964, at the age of 32, he became a city ​​councilor . Just one year later, the CDU MPs elected him their parliamentary group leader . 1982 he was appointed as deputy mayor Walter Wallmann for mayor elected. After the election defeat in 1989, he was the only department head that the SPD-Greens coalition did not vote out. He had cautiously distanced himself from his party's so-called foreigner election campaign. It was not until 1994 that Moog left Frankfurt's local politics at the end of his term of office.

In addition to his tasks in city politics, he was involved for many years for the Protestant Church and the German Red Cross .

In 1997 he was awarded the Hessian Order of Merit and in 2003 the Great Federal Cross of Merit . In 2004 he received the Martin Niemöller Medal of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau and the plaque of honor from the City of Frankfurt am Main .

Moog is married with one grown daughter.
