Hans-Joachim Osmers (born April 7, 1948 in Bremen ) is a former German football referee .

Osmers was a referee at the Bremen Football Association . He was nominated as referee for the 1st Bundesliga in 1982 and made his debut on September 11, 1982, in the 1982/83 season . In 1995 he reached the age limit and ended his career.

With appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and in the DFB Cup , Osmers made a total of 165 appearances in German professional football.

On April 23, 1994, he made a curious wrong decision in the Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Nürnberg . After a hint from his assistant Jörg Jablonski, Osmers recognized a valid hit from Thomas Helmer , who, however, had pushed the ball past the goal out of the crowd. The 2-1 victory of FC Bayern by the phantom goal was withdrawn by the DFB and a replay was scheduled, which 1. FC Nürnberg lost 5-0.

Hans-Joachim Osmers is not related to or by marriage with the Bundesliga referee Harm Osmers (* 1985).
