"Unofficial employee" of the Ministry of State Security

From 1988 the Ministry for State Security Harder led under the registration number I / 1588/88 with the code name “Dr. Winegrower “as an" unofficial employee on a special mission "(IME). After the end of the GDR regime, an investigative committee of the Evangelical Church in Germany came to the conclusion, after studying the files, that Harder, as IM, had violated his official duties towards the church, but was at no time an employee of the MfS. It therefore refrained from recommending disciplinary proceedings.
