Hans-Werner Klohe (born November 11, 1970 in Mannheim ) is a German dancer and choreographer .

Career

Klohe grew up in Landau in the Palatinate , where he graduated from the Max Slevogt Gymnasium . He studied dance at the State Ballet Academy in Cologne and at the Heinz Bosl Foundation in Munich . Klohe worked on choreographic research and coaching projects with Lloyd Newson, Vera Mantero, Emio Greco and Nigel Charnock. He also worked as a dancer with Sasha Waltz . In addition to German engagements as a dancer, he has also worked at theaters in the USA and the Netherlands, England, France, Canada and Hungary.

choreography

Since 2001 Klohe has been producing his own dance pieces such as his " Hugo Wolf project". New Germany judged Klohe's Hugo Wolf project: “His feeling for sculptural picture solutions and effective spatial effects is convincing. The song often rises out of the tightness of the body, as if it originated from a momentary contact. ”“ Wolf's songs win when the singer is choreographically integrated and boldly swings his voice upright or lying down. So the energy flow of the music, which the dance translates, finally arrives again as movement in the music. This is something that very few such experiments succeed, ”said the Berliner Morgenpost . Klohe combines dance body work with Asian forms of meditation, as in an action at the Museum for Asian Art in Berlin in 2010.
