Hans-Werner Staratzke

Hans-Werner Staratzke (born August 5, 1912 in Breslau ; † October 18, 2004 ) was a German economist , manager and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school and graduating from high school, Staratzke began studying economics at the universities in Berlin and Königsberg , which he achieved with the examination for a degree in business administration and in 1937 with a doctorate in Dr. rer. oec. finished. He then entered the Prussian administrative service and from 1938 worked in the economic administration of the Oberpräsidium Königsberg. He was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1939 and took part in the Second World War as a soldier until he was dismissed from military service in 1941. He then worked in the Berlin Reich Economic Administration. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the United States, from which he was released in 1946.

Staratzke acted from 1946 to 1948 as head of division in the economic administration of the British zone in Minden and as head of division in the economic administration of the United Economic Area in Frankfurt am Main . In 1948 he became general manager of the General Association of the German Textile Industry in the Federal Republic of Germany - Gesamttextil - based in Frankfurt am Main and was an executive member of the presidency from 1964 to 1979. He was also a member of the main committee of the German Group of the International Chamber of Crafts and since 1974 a member of the Economic and Social Committee of the EC (WSA).

Political party

Staratzke joined the FDP and was chairman of the local association Bad Soden , chairman of the district association Main-Taunus-Kreis and chairman of the district association West Hesse of the party.

MP

Staratzke was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1969. He entered parliament through the state list of Hesse .
