Hans Abraham (weightlifter)

Hans Abraham ( January 20, 1886 - December 14, 1963 ) was a German weightlifter .

Career

Hans Abraham grew up in Nuremberg and, after doing gymnastics beforehand, joined the 1st Athletics Club Nuremberg-Steinbühl at the age of 16, from which AC Sandow Nuremberg emerged. At the age of 20 he reached the German and European top class and was at the start on many lifting platforms in Europe from 1907. His career was interrupted by participating in the First World War , in which he was wounded. After the war, he remained active in sports well into old age and won six German championship titles in the age groups. Hans Abraham was a Former by profession . Hans Abraham was without a doubt a pioneer of modern weight lifting.

  • 1913, 2nd place , World Championships in Breslau behind Leopold Hennermüller , Austria and in front of Josef Buchegger, Austria;
  • 1914, 1st place , EM in Vienna , VK1, HS, with 402.5 kg (70-72.5-120-140), ahead of Hennermüller;
  • 1914, 1st place , Baltic Games in Malmö .

  • 1909, 2nd place in Bonn , VK1, Wed, with 359.5 kg (68.5-70-95-126), behind Andreas Lutz , Nuremberg, 364.5 kg;
  • 1912, 1st place in Frankfurt am Main, FK, Wed, with 492.5 kg (75-100-105-87.5-125), ahead of Hartmann, Weingarten, 460 kg and Hausmann, Frankfurt, 447.5 kg;
  • 1913, 1st place in Kassel , FK, Wed, with 500 kg (77.5-100-102.5-90-130), before Göbl, Kassel, 442.5 kg and Stahl, Ladenburg , 437.5 kg.
