Hans Bloesch , also Hans Blösch , pseudonym Johann Jakob Murrner , (born December 26, 1878 in Bern , † April 28, 1945 ibid) was a Swiss journalist , librarian and travel writer .

Life

Hans Bloesch, son of the Protestant theologian and librarian Emil Blösch , studied German, philosophy and history at the University of Bern and received his doctorate there in 1902 . From 1906 to 1908 he worked in Rome as a correspondent for the Frankfurter Zeitung and the Berner Bund . He was then editor for Die Alpen des SAC (from 1910 to 1913), Die Schweizerische Baukunst (from 1913 to 1914) and Das Werk (from 1915 to 1919), among others . From 1919 he was librarian , from 1927 chief librarian of the city ​​and university library of Bern .

Bloesch edited together with Rudolf Hunziker from 1911 to 1944 the complete works of Jeremias Gotthelf as well as the Tschachtlans Berner Chronik and the Spiezer Schilling . In 1928 he became president of the Association for the Dissemination of Good Writings and in 1939 he founded the Bern journal for history and local history together with others .

His son was the classical archaeologist Hansjörg Bloesch (1912-1992).
