Hans Christoph von Königsmarck (1701–1779)

Hans Joachim Christoph von Königsmarck (born October 6, 1701 in Kötzlin (today a district of Kyritz ), † October 9, 1779 there ) was a royal Prussian major general and commander of infantry regiment No. 23 . He was a bearer of the order Pour le Mérite . He was also Amtshauptmann of Prussian Eylau and hereditary lord on Kötzlin , Roddahn , Vehlin , Bendelin and Netzeband .

Life

He came to Infantry Regiment No. 3 in 1720 , where he was promoted to staff captain. In 1740 he received his own company in Infantry Regiment No. 37 , shortly afterwards he was promoted to major. In July 1749 he was appointed lieutenant colonel and in February 1751 commander of the 23rd regiment. He received the post of governor of Preussisch Eylau in 1754. In May 1757 he was promoted to major general. After he was badly wounded in June 1757 in the Battle of Kolin , he asked for his release in 1759, which was granted on December 19, 1759. Hans Christoph von Königsmarck then withdrew to his estates.

family

His father was the Prussian Rittmeister Joachim Siegfried von Königsmarck (* March 28, 1659, † July 2, 1715), heir to Kötzlin. His mother was his second wife Sabine von Blumenthal (November 11, 1668; † February 23, 1748), daughter of Hans Jakob von Blumenthal (1640–1701) and Friederike Dorothea von Diringshofen.

He was married twice. His first wife Sophia Albertine von Hacke (* May 17, 1734; † December 16, 1755) was a daughter of Lieutenant General Hans Christoph Friedrich von Hacke . He married her on August 6, 1754. The couple had a son who died before him. His second wife Dorothea Charlotte Emilie von Saldern (1742-1813) was the eldest daughter of Wilhelm von Saldern . He married her on September 2, 1761. The couple had no children.
