Live and act

Hans Döring was the son of the civil servant Johannes Döring and his wife Margaretha nee Lehning. Between 1907 and 1918 he attended secondary school and then the secondary school in Wiesbaden . With the upper secondary qualification he began a commercial apprenticeship in a Wiesbaden food wholesaler on April 1, 1918, which he broke off in the summer of that year. He worked as a transport worker until 1919 and then completed an apprenticeship in a shipping company until 1922. He then earned his living one after the other in various trades: From 1922 to 1923 he was employed by the Reich Property Office. On May 16, 1923, he was sentenced by criminal chamber I in Wiesbaden to a six-week prison term for favoritism , which he did not have to serve due to the fact that he was in custody. Then he worked until 1924 as a worker in a civil engineering company. He then worked from 1924 to 1930 in various companies in the freight forwarding, confectionery and insurance sectors as a salesman and then from 1931 to 1932 as a salesman and forwarding agent in Darmstadt . In 1932 Döring went to Vadenrod , where he continued to work as a freight forwarder. In the first marriage Döring was married to Hedwig Ellert and in the second marriage to Maria Luise Barbara Heuler.

On November 15, 1928, Döring joined the SA . He joined the NSDAP on December 1, 1928 under membership number 106.490. He was also an early member of the SS, to which he converted from the SA on January 6, 1929 under membership number 1,327. From 1928 he officiated as SS leader in the areas of Wiesbaden , Darmstadt , Kassel and Dresden . On January 15, 1930 he was raised to the rank of storm leader. On March 8, 1931, he was promoted to SS-Standartenführer.

In 1931 and 1932 Döring was a member of the NSDAP in the Hessian state parliament . During or shortly after his time in parliament, he founded an SS storm in Vadenrod.

On June 3, 1932, Döring was expelled from the NSDAP by the Hessian Gauleiter Karl Lenz . On August 12, he was sentenced by the Darmstadt District Court to a fine of 35 Reichsmarks for acquiring a firearm without a gun license, but an amnesty waived it on December 20, 1932. He was previously admitted to the party again on September 12, after his expulsion from the party had been withdrawn. After the National Socialist " seizure of power " in the spring of 1933, Döring was entrusted with command of Section II of the SS. On November 9th of that year he reached the lowest general rank within the SS when he was promoted to Oberführer. From November 1933 to March 1936 he was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 28 (Dresden-Bautzen) . He then did not move into the Reichstag again, despite running again. From June 1, 1936, he was again active full-time with the SS and until January 1, 1937 was leader of the 31st SS standard (Landshut). During this time he was severely reprimanded on November 3, 1936 for running a black box office. On January 26, 1937, proceedings were opened against him in an SS court because his previous conviction was not recorded in his personal papers. This proceeding also resulted in a severe reprimand. On January 1, 1939, he was commissioned to lead an SS section. Until March 1, he was in front of SS Section IX (Nuremberg) and then until October 1, 1942 for SS Section I (Munich). In April 1939 the NSDAP Supreme Court acquitted Döring of the accusation that he had personally enriched himself as leader of the 35th SS Standard in Kassel in the winter of 1932/1933 by carrying out a grain sacrifice (collection for the benefit of the party and its branches).

On June 10, 1941, Döring joined the Waffen SS . Until September he was a group leader in the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH). From November 19, 1941 to May 1, 1943 he was SS and Police Site Leader in Stalino in the Ukraine and from December 6, 1941 to September 30, 1943 in the Stalino- Donets area . According to the last SS seniority list from 1944, Döring belonged to the staff of the SS Upper Section Warthe on leave of absence from the Waffen SS. In the general SS he had held the rank of brigade leader since April 20, 1942. He is also assigned the rank of Major General of the Police in the ranking. On February 8, 1945, proceedings against him for military disobedience were dropped.
