Hans Engelbrecht (Major General)

Hans Hugo Karl Engelbrecht (born April 22, 1854 in Reckow , Regenwalde district , † February 8, 1933 in Hanover ) was a Prussian officer , most recently major general .

Life

Engelbrecht, son of the manor owner Hans Engelbrecht and Franziska Piper, joined the 42nd Infantry Regiment in 1870 and held the rank of Second Lieutenant from November 18, 1870 . In 1877 he moved to Grenadier Regiment No. 6 and on April 13, 1880, he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant . In 1881 he switched again to Infantry Regiment No. 128 , where he rose to captain on March 22, 1887 and became company commander . On December 14, 1895, he was promoted to major and appointed battalion commander. He stayed in this position until 1902, was promoted to lieutenant colonel on April 22, 1902 and was assigned to the staff of Infantry Regiment No. 45 . Engelbrecht became a colonel on April 22, 1905 and was in command of the 84th Infantry Regiment until 1907 . Then he was in command of the Landwehr district of Hanover. On August 18, 1912 he received under award of the character as a major general in his resignation.
