Carl Georg Eduard Hans Faust (born March 31, 1894 in Frankfurt am Main ; † February 10, 1974 in Bad Hersfeld ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer and district administrator .

Life

Faust studied law at the Georg August University in Göttingen and became a member of the Corps Bremensia there . In 1920 he entered the civil service as a government trainee. From 1923 he worked as a government assessor with the government in Düsseldorf and with the district administrator in Essen . From 1924 he was an unskilled worker in the Ministry of the Interior. In 1925 the lawyer, who had meanwhile received a doctorate, was appointed to the government council and in 1928 to the senior government council. From 1930 Faust served as district administrator in the Landsberg ad Warthe district in the province of Brandenburg . At the same time he was also director of the district fire law firm . From 1930 to 1933 he was a member of the German People's Party (DVP), joined the National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) on September 30, 1933, and the NSDAP in 1937 . From 1931 Faust was a member of the supervisory board of Märkische Elektrizitätswerke AG . In 1934 he worked temporarily in the State Ministry (StMinm). In 1936/37 he was Vice President of the administrative district in Schneidemühl and from 1938 in Wiesbaden . From 1941 Faust worked as district president in Katowice . At the end of 1944, Faust moved to the Reich Ministry of the Interior , where he was promoted to Ministerial Director, initially General Secretary of the Plenipotentiary General for Total War Deployment and later headed the personnel department.
