Hans Friedrich Micheelsen
Hans Friedrich Micheelsen (born June 9, 1902 in Hennstedt (Dithmarschen) , † November 23, 1973 in Glüsing near Hennstedt) was a German church musician and composer .
Live and act
Hans Friedrich Micheelsen visited the preparatory institute , today the Ludwig-Meyn-Gymnasium in Uetersen . From 1922 to July 1933 he was a church musician at the Pauluskirche in Brunsbüttel . From October 1933 to summer 1937 he studied with Paul Hindemith in Berlin . From 1938 to 1961 he was head of the church music department at the Hamburg University of Music . In 1954, he was appointed professor . His students include u. a. Joachim Black . From 1962 to 1972 he lived in the Black Forest.
Micheelsen composed vocal music , organ music and instrumental works . His stylistic devices range from simple tonality to twelve-tone technique . He wrote the melody for the hymn "Consoling, comforting", says the Lord ( EG 15).
