Hans Günter Zekl

Hans Günter Zekl (born January 22, 1939 in Opava ; † April 15, 2016 in Korbach ) was a German classical philologist , philosophy historian , translator and high school teacher .

After studying Classical Philology and Philosophy in Marburg and Munich , Zekl received his doctorate in 1968 with a dissertation on Plato's Dialog Parmenides at the University of Marburg. From 1972 he taught Latin and ethics at a high school. In addition, he worked as an editor, translator and interpreter of philosophical texts from Greek and Roman antiquity as well as the early modern period , repeatedly in collaboration with the Marburg Kant researcher Klaus Reich (Plato: Timaeus ; Aristotle : Organon , physics , metaphysics ; Cicero ; Diogenes Laertios ; Porphyrios ; Proklos ; Martianus Capella ; Nicolaus Copernicus ; Petrus Ramus ; Rudolph Goclenius , from whom he found three academic speeches; René Descartes ). In 1990 he presented an extensive study of the Aristotelian theory of space .
