Hans Gustav Dittenberger von Dittenberg , also Gustav Dittenberg, (* 1794 in Neuenweg (today to Kleines Wiesental) , † October 15, 1879 in Moscow ) was a German painter, graphic artist, illustrator and photographer.

Dittenberg's first training took place before 1817 with the painters Friedrich Rottmann and Jakob Wilhelm Roux in Heidelberg . Between 1817 and 1822 he learned from Peter von Cornelius in Munich . In 1823 he took part in the art and industry exhibition in Karlsruhe . From 1824 to 1825 he stayed in Paris, where he was a student of Antoine-Jean Gros . In 1831 Dittenberg was in Rome, and from 1836 in Vienna. From 1857 to 1871 he worked in Saint Petersburg , where he was involved in the painting of the Marian Palace . In 1871 he moved to Moscow, where he worked as a painter.
