Jónas Breki Magnússon (born June 16, 1980 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been under contract with Amager Ishockey again in the Danish 1st division , the second highest division in the country, since 2016 .

Career

Jónas Breki Magnússon began his career as an ice hockey player with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn . Apart from brief trips to Sweden and Finland, he played for the club from his hometown Reykjavík until 2003 . He then moved to Denmark, where he was or is on the ice for the Gladsaxe SF and Amager Ishockey in the 1st division , the second highest division in the country. He is a trained goldsmith and runs a jewelry design shop.

International

In the junior division, Jónas Breki Magnússon took part in the U18-D European Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the U20-D World Championships in 1999 and 2000 .

With the men's national team , he first played at the D World Championships in 1999 and 2000 . After switching to the current division system, he took part in the 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2005 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 World Championships in Division II. After relegations in the meantime, he played in 2004 when he was the tournament's top scorer, and in 2006 in Division III.
