Hans Häusermann

Hans Otto Häusermann (born July 8, 1926 in Basel , Switzerland ) is a Swiss company founder, entrepreneur and pioneer in corporate management and in the temporary management business. He became known through his cross-sectoral activities in public administration , industry and private service companies . He had well-known consulting mandates with the Cantonal Administration of Bern (public administration), with the Ammann Group , IKEA , Hero and Sulzer AG (industry), as well as with the Zurich Insurance Group and Swisscom (services).

Hans Häusermann was born in Basel as the eldest son of Otto Häusermann, a trained baker, and Elsa Häusermann-Mesmer. He grew up with his younger brother and sister in Muttenz.

At the age of 26 he married Ruth Schaffner. He is the father of a son, Urs (* 1954) and a daughter, Karin (* 1958).

Today Hans Häusermann lives with his wife in Boppelsen (Kt. ZH).

education

From 1932 to 1940 Hans Häusermann attended primary and secondary school in Muttenz (Kt. BL). During the Second World War, Hans Häusermann began his four-year apprenticeship as a mechanic at Buss AG , a mechanical and plant engineering company in Pratteln, in 1941 . At the same time, he attended the compulsory machine drawing trade school in Basel.

In 1946 he took up a position as workshop group leader in the calculating machine department at Bührle AG in Zurich-Oerlikon. He then worked as a workshop manager at the photoelectric device manufacturer at Alos AG in Zurich. A position that he gave up in favor of a position as deputy operations manager at the former Eisenbaugesellschaft AG in Zurich, which had 300 employees. At the same time, he completed a part-time mechanical engineering degree at the "Abendtechnikum" Juventus in Zurich.

From 1953 to 1956, Hans Häusermann worked as an assistant to the factory management of the former Standard Telephon und Radio AG (STR), a subsidiary of the American ITT group in Zurich, and at the same time completed a part-time course in business administration sponsored by STR AG at the ETH Zurich (seventh and eighth semester).

Häusermann AG

At the age of 30, Hans Häusermann founded Häusermann + Co. AG in Zurich in 1956, a management and business consultancy which, during its 34 years of management, has developed into one of the largest and most successful Swiss consulting companies with offices in Basel, Bern and Sindelfingen (D) . Hans Häusermann was always careful to have well-known personalities on his company's board of directors. B. Hans Letsch (President of V-Zug) and Edwin Rühle (Professor at the University of Zurich ).

Industrie Automation AG

In 1964, Hans Häusermann founded and headed the AG for Industrial Automation (AGIA) in Glattbrugg as Chairman of the Board of Directors in addition to his consulting company.

Brainforce AG

As a pioneer in German-speaking countries, Hans Häusermann founded Brainforce AG in Zurich, which specializes in temporary management, at the end of 1979 - in addition to his management consulting activities. In 1999 he established the “International” division within Brainforce AG in Zurich with partners in Vienna, Moscow and Bangkok. In 2005, BRAINFORCE branches were founded in these three cities as well as in Shanghai.

BRAINFORCE Performance Management AG

In 1996, Hans Häusermann founded the BRAINFORCE subsidiary BRAINFORCE Performance Management AG, which offered management coaching and training.

BRAINFORCE (Germany) GmbH

In the crisis year 2001, Hans Häusermann founded BRAINFORCE (Deutschland) GmbH in Munich , which is also geared towards temporary business management and which was able to establish itself in the German market in a short time thanks to substantial investments by the BRAINFORCE headquarters in Zurich.

Sale of the company

Häusermann & Co. / AG

At the end of 1988, Hans Häusermann sold his majority stake in Häusermann & Co. / AG to Inspectorate International SA, which was then part of the Omni-Holding, and which in turn became Häusermann AG in 1990 after the collapse of Werner K. Rey's Omni-Holding , KPMG Fides AG, Switzerland sold. Hans Häusermann remained head of Häusermann & Co. until it was sold to KPMG .

Brainforce companies

As the main shareholder and active Chairman of the Board of Directors, the 75-year-old Hans Häusermann established a managing director each for the two main companies, Brainforce AG and Brainforce (Deutschland) GmbH.

The subsequent efforts to find a suitable successor lasted seven years despite various well-known Swiss and German prospective buyers. In December 2007, the CEO of Brainforce AG Martin Schneider was finally able to prevail over his fellow competitors by means of a “management buy-out”. As the new main shareholder, Martin Schneider has since been Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Brainforce headquarters and thus leads the increasingly internationally active Brainforce.

From 1978 to 1982 Hans Häusermann was a board delegate of De Sede Holding AG Switzerland.

Under the direction of Hans Häusermann, Häusermann AG published the "Häusermann Information" two to three times a year. These discussed, usually in an editorial, contemporary economic and entrepreneurial topics and described their current mandates.
