Hans Hödl

Hans Hödl (married Hödl-Ganster, born January 18, 1937 in Graz ; † November 9, 2019 in Graz ) was an Austrian mountaineer, hiking expert and photographer .

biography

Hödl studied philosophy and theology and then worked as a lecturer at Styria Verlag . As a later publishing director, he built up the illustrated book, hiking and mountain books division. He also worked for ten years as a lecturer at the University of Graz . He taught his specialty in publishing.

From 1973 to 1993 he wrote the weekly column Auf Schusters Rappen in the Kleine Zeitung . The topic was hiking, which was his passion until the end. In his hiking books he described tours that he went himself and gave multivision lectures.

He lived in Graz.
