Hans H. Walser

Hans Huldrych Walser (born June 16, 1920 in Peggau ; legal resident in Zurich , Oberdorf and Teufen ) is a Swiss medical historian .

Live and act

Walser studied medicine at the University of Zurich from 1939 to 1946 . He trained as a specialist in psychiatry and opened a predominantly psychoanalytical practice in Zurich in 1957 . In the same year he received a doctorate from Hans Fischer at the University of Zurich with a medical-historical work. med. doctorate , which he had created under the direction of Erwin Heinz Ackerknecht . In the summer semester 1968 Walser received his habilitation at the University of Zurich and in the summer semester 1974 he was appointed adjunct professor for the history of medicine .

He has published numerous articles on the history of psychiatry and psychoanalysis in Switzerland. From 1974 to 1980 he was editor of Gesnerus magazine .
