Hans Joachim Kohnert

Hans-Joachim Kohnert (born June 28, 1905 in Bromberg , West Prussia , † June 26, 1972 in Harthaus (district of Germering ), Upper Bavaria ) was a high-ranking Nazi functionary and farmers' representative; after 1945 he became a functionary for expellees and a lobbyist for German meat factories.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bromberg and doing Polish military service, Kohnert attended the Technical University in Gdansk . He finished his agricultural studies in 1930 as a qualified farmer. In the same year he was staff sergeant d. R. (Polish Army Reserves).

He was the spokesman for the German Association for Poznan and Pomeranian (DV) in Poland until it was dissolved in January 1940. The district leader of the Warthegau, Arthur Greiser , appointed him to his personal staff on September 10, 1940. From 1935 Kohnert took over the management of the German Association from Erik von Witzleben . Kohnert had been married to Eda, nee Schlubach, since 1932. The marriage had two daughters and three sons.

Honors

He was awarded the Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP . On September 30, 1944, Kohnert was honored with the Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross.
