Hans Koennecke

Hans Koennecke (born October 20, 1896 in Vieselbach , † May 17, 1936 in Jühnsdorf ) was a German officer , sports official and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

Hans Koennecke attended the citizens' school in Magdeburg , the GutsMuthsoberrealschule in Quedlinburg and the Bismarckgymnasium in Magdeburg. He then moved to the Goethe Gymnasium in Berlin-Wilmersdorf , where he passed his Abitur. After the outbreak of World War I , he volunteered in the infantry regiment "Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia" (2nd Magdeburg) No. 27 of the Prussian Army in August 1914 and was transferred to the Western Front in October . In December 1915 he was appointed lieutenant . In May 1916 he was transferred to Reserve Jäger Battalion No. 27 on the Eastern Front . From January 1918 until the end of the war, he was a Finnish major and general staff officer in Finland on behalf of the General Staff Section .

Koennecke returned to Germany in January 1919 and studied political science for seven semesters at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . Then he was Secretary General of the Vaterländische Betriebe in Berlin-Schöneberg and editor of the nationalist newspaper Die Einheitsfront . He joined the German National People's Party (DNVP) and was General Secretary and executive board member of the DNVP Regional Association Potsdam II from November 16, 1921. In autumn 1924 he went on a study trip to the United States .

Koennecke was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament in December 1924 , to which he belonged until its dissolution in 1933. In parliament he represented constituency 3 (Potsdam II). In 1929 he married Ingeborg Koßmann, they had 3 children together. April 6, 1933 until his death he served as district administrator of the district of Teltow .

In addition to his political functions, Koennecke was active in sports associations. He was the first chairman of the Berlin Sports Association in 1892 , a member of the presidency of the German Hockey Association and a member of the Reich Committee for Physical Exercise .

On May 17, 1936 Koennecke had an accident on the way to his work on a country road between his place of residence Jühnsdorf and Blankenfelde-Mahlow .
