Hans Kurzweil

Hans Kurzweil (born August 26, 1942 in Graz , † July 4, 2014 in Emskirchen ) was a German mathematician who dealt with algebra (especially the theory of finite groups and coding theory). He was a professor of mathematics at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

Kurzweil received his doctorate in 1968 from Reinhold Baer at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main ( finite groups with an automorphism whose fixed point group is a Sylow Tower group ).
