Focus

As early as the 1930s, Löhrl did pioneering research into the world of birds with studies on the distribution of the mountain warbler , the white stork population and the migrations of the gray heron . He was particularly interested in researching and observing nuthatches , various titmouse species , the wall creeper , the barn swallow , the flycatcher , the collarcatcher and the cuckoo . In ornithology, the Löhrl effect named after him describes the relationship between the size of nesting holes and the size of the clutch as well as the reproductive success of certain bird species.
