Hans Partzsch

Hans Partzsch (born February 28, 1930 in Dresden ; † June 8, 2012 in Greifswald ) was a German naval officer , most recently Rear Admiral of the People's Navy .

Life

Partzsch, son of a postman, was trained as a cabinet maker from 1944 to 1949 after graduating from school. He joined the armed organs of the GDR on September 21, 1949. From 1949 to 1952 he studied at the School of the People's Police (VP) in Döbeln and then took up his work as a department head at a VP office in Leipzig and Pinnow. In 1954 Partzsch became a member of the SED . From 1952 to 1953 he served in the administration of the Aero Club, the forerunner of the later air force of the National People's Army , in Cottbus . After he had worked as an adjutant of a squadron commander of the VP-Dienststelle Kamenz -2, he studied from 1955 to 1959 at a military academy of the USSR . After his return he was employed as chief of staff and deputy commander of the 9th Air Wing until 1960. From 1961 to 1972 he served as chief of an operational department and deputy chief of staff in the 3rd air defense division of the NVA and then until 1981 as chief of staff and deputy commander of this division. From December 1, 1981 to August 31, 1982 Colonel Partzsch commanded the 3rd Air Defense Division. In 1983 he was transferred to the People's Navy by the air force of the GDR and was commander of the naval air force . He was appointed Rear Admiral on March 1, 1988 in this position, which he held until his retirement on March 31, 1990.
