Hans Plöckinger

Hans Plöckinger (born February 27, 1882 in Krems , † April 3, 1955 in Vienna ) was an Austrian teacher , writer and historian .

Life

The son of a post office clerk graduated from high school in 1902 and studied history, geography and German at the University of Vienna and, after passing the teaching exams, went to Brno and Zwittau, today's Svitavy . In 1922 he became a teacher at the teacher training institute in Krems.

For 25 years he was an honorary archivist for the city of Krems and on the management committee of the city museum. He founded the Viticulture Museum in 1928 and worked as a writer. On May 31, 1938 , he applied for membership in the NSDAP , which was approved retrospectively to May 1, 1938 under the number 6.237.435. He was a member of the local group Krems in the Niederdonau district . Hans-Plöckinger-Strasse in Krems is still named after him today.
