Act

In Ottweiler, Hans Puls came into contact with questions raised by young people about the church, church structures and sacred songs . He found answers in the 1960s with the creation of new sacred songs with modern rhythms. His jazz services enlivened young people's commitment to the church, and his songs were also very well received at church days (Dortmund 1962, Cologne 1964). In the 1980s he created numerous melodies and movements for texts by Fritz Roos .

Hymn

In 1962 Hans Puls created the melody for Help, Lord of My Life with the text by Gustav Lohmann and Markus Jenny . This song found its way into the Evangelical Hymnbook (No. 419) and the Catholic Praise for God (No. 622).

Honor

In 1988 Hans Puls received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his exemplary church commitment.
