Hans Rockmeier

Hans Rockmeier (born April 14, 1934 in Landshut ; † July 9, 1999 ) was a German table tennis player . He is German champion in doubles and mixed.

Career

Rockmeier began his active career after the Second World War with the GYA Landshut club, which later renamed itself to the Landshut gymnastics community. In 1950 he became German youth champion in singles and doubles with Conny Freundorfer .

In 1952 he moved to the upper division club MTV Munich 1879 , with whom he won the German team championship in 1953 and 1954. In 1955 he won the German mixed championship with his partner Ulla Paulsen , and a year later he won the doubles title with Conny Freundorfer . In 1962 he moved to SSV Reutlingen 05 .

His international career began in 1954 when he was nominated for the international match against France in March. In 1954 and 1955 he took part in the world championships. He reached the quarter-finals in doubles in 1954 and the second round in 1955. He played a total of six international matches.

In 1954, he took third place in the overall German ranking.

Private

Rockmeier was a commercial clerk by profession.
