Hans Rudolph Leopold von Greiffenberg
Hans Rudolf Leopold von Greiffenberg (born January 11, 1810 in Gosda (Cottbus district), † June 14, 1877 in Sorau ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently commandant in Stralsund .
origin
His parents were Friedrich Karl Heinrich von Greiffenberg (born March 26, 1776, † November 24, 1836) and his wife Marianne Charlotte Friederike (von) Monro († November 8, 1827). His father was a master on Gosda and a captain a. D. from Infantry Regiment No. 39 (Zastrow). His sisters Franziska Adolfine († November 9, 1842) and Luise Marianne Emilie (* September 1, 1820; † November 29, 1886) were consecutively with Count Wilhelm Karl Dietrich Peter Ernst Finck von Finckenstein (* October 10, 1810; † 1 October 1868) married.
Life
He got his education at the grammar school in Luckau . He then went to the 8th Infantry Regiment on October 19, 1825 . There he was appointed portepeef ensign on November 15, 1827 and second lieutenant on February 15, 1829. From October 10, 1840 to June 30, 1843 he was a teacher at the division school of the 5th division . Promoted to Premier-Lieutenant on August 11, 1846, he became captain and company commander on February 7, 1850 and major on July 6, 1858. On July 1, 1860 he was then battalion commander and on October 18, 1861 promoted to lieutenant colonel. During the German-Danish War he was wounded in a storm on the Düppeler Schanzen . On April 11, 1864, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class with swords . On April 18, 1865, he was transferred to the Torgau Fortress as commander and was assigned à la suite to the 8th Leib-Grenadier-Regiment . There he was promoted to colonel on June 18, 1865, and on April 3, 1866, he came to Stralsund as commandant. He received the character of major general on March 14, 1868 and was put up for disposal with a pension . He died on June 14, 1877 in Sorau in Niederlausitz .

He married on October 1, 1844 in Geismannsdorf ( Sprottau district ) Mathilde Henriette Charlotte Luise von Eckartsberg (* February 27, 1818 - † February 13, 1879). The couple had several children:
