Hans Stefan Steinheuer
Hans Stefan Steinheuer (born February 22, 1959 in Bad Neuenahr ) is a German chef .
Career
Steinheuer did his apprenticeship as a cook from 1976 to 1978 at Gut Schwarzenbruch in Stolberg (Rhineland) . Afterwards he cooked in the Hotel-Restaurant Erbprinz in Ettlingen until 1979 . Another important station was his time in the Schweizer Stuben in Wertheim, where he worked from 1981 to 1983 as sous-chef under Jörg Müller and Dieter Müller . In 1985 he took over his parents' country inn Zur Alten Post in Bad Neuenahr, where Steinheuer still cooks a gourmet kitchen to this day. In his second restaurant, the rustic Landgasthof Poststuben , the kitchen offers simpler, partly typical regional dishes. Steinheuer also runs the Hotel Landhaus with a total of 10 rooms and suites.
In 2015 he handed over the post of head chef to his son-in-law Christian Binder , but remained in charge as kitchen director.
He became known to a wide audience through his TV show Lebensart on n-tv .
Steinheuer is married and has three children.
Awards
In 1986 Steinheuer's restaurant was awarded the first star in the Michelin Guide . In 1999 Gault Millau named Steinheuer “Newcomer of the Year”, and in the same year the Michelin Guide awarded the Alte Post its second star . In 2000 Gault Millau named him “Chef of the Year”. In 2010, Gault Millau awarded Steinheuer's kitchen 4 toques (19/20 points), the magazine Der Feinschmecker awarded him 5/5 F and the Great Restaurant & Hotel Guide named him “Chef of the Year”.
Memberships
Steinheuer is a member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe ; From 1996 to 2000 he was President of the Germany Section. Steinheuers Restaurant Zur Alten Post is a member of the L'Art de Vivre association .
