Hans Sydow

Hans Sydow (born January 29, 1879 in Berlin ; † June 6, 1946 there ) was a German botanist and mycologist .

Hans Sydow worked for Dresdner Bank in Berlin from 1904 to 1937 . Together with his father Paul Sydow , he published a Puccinia monograph with over 1,000 pages. The manuscript for the second edition and its extensive collection burned in 1943 in Berlin. A subspecies of Bryum capillare received the addition "sydowii". The trade journal Sydowia was named after the name Sydow.
