Bruno Hans Wilhelm Alfred Adolf Sartorius von Bach (born January 4, 1904 in Detmold , † May 11, 1975 in Windhoek , South West Africa ) was a Namibian farmer and politician .

The Von Bach Dam near Okahandja , which opened in 1970, is named after Sartorius von Bach .

Life path

Sartorius von Bach went to school in Hanover and Hameln and attended the colonial school in Witzenhausen . He emigrated to South West Africa in 1925 .

Sartorius von Bach began his career as a farmer's apprentice and manager on Farm Voigtsgrund , where he was employed until 1930. On May 20, 1929 he married Hella Sartorius von Bach, b. Schlettwein (1903-1993). He had at least one child with her (* 1962). In 1930 he acquired Farm Breckhorn before starting farming in 1945 on Farm Beula near Outjo .

Sartorius von Bach joined the National Party of South West Africa (NPSWA). For this he sat from 1955 to 1970 in the South West African Legislative Assembly (parliament), was from 1961 to 1970 member of the cabinet and from 1970 member of the Senate of South Africa .
