Hans von Meding (born October 15, 1868 on Gut Schnellenberg near Lüneburg , † January 5, 1917 fell on the Kurländische Aa (Lat. Lielupe)) was a landlord and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Meding attended the Gymnasium zu Lüneburg until 1890 and the universities of Heidelberg , Tübingen and Berlin . In 1890 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . He was a court trainee from 1894 to 1896 and learned agriculture from 1896 to 1897. Since then he has been tenant of the Wulfsode monastery and since 1908 of the Horndorf manor ( Bleckede district ). In 1891/92 he served as a one-year volunteer in Infantry Regiment No. 125 in Tübingen . He also performed exercises with the Grenadier Regiment 109 in Karlsruhe . He was a vice sergeant and an officer candidate.

From 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Province of Hanover 15 ( Lüchow , Uelzen , Dannenberg , Bleckede ) and the German-Hanover Party . In 1914 he founded the agricultural association Wriedel and in 1915 he volunteered for military service. On January 5, 1917, he was fatally hit by three bullets in Courland on the Courland Aa. He was buried in Schnellenberg in the family manor chapel. Along with Ludwig Frank, he was one of two members of the Reichstag who fell in World War I.
