history
First mention
The community was first mentioned in 1330 as Toregelop .
Territorial reform
On March 1, 1974, the previously independent municipalities of Tosterglope and Ventschau were merged to form the municipality of Tosterglope.

Blazon : "In a green heraldic shield divided transversely by a semicircular upwardly curved silver stream, three golden plowshares at the top, a golden boulder at the bottom."
The three plowshares represent the rural districts of Tosterglope, Köhlingen and Gut Horndorf. The boulder stands for the Ventschau district. One can actually be found there. The brook stands for the Barnbeker brook, which separates Ventschau from the other districts.
traffic
It is about six kilometers to the federal highway 216 Lüneburg - Dahlenburg - Dannenberg (Elbe) , which is south of the municipality.
