Harald Heck

Harald Heck (born July 1, 1954 - † April 27, 2018 ) was a German football player and coach.

Athletic career

Heck came from the youth of Karlsruher SC . He later played for SC Baden-Baden in his time third-rate first Amateur League South Baden , with whom he in the season 1972/73 as a master only in the promotion round behind the VfR Mannheim , the FC 08 Villingen and SSV Ulm 1846 the rise in missed the regional league. He later joined 1. FC Pforzheim in the 1. Amateur League North Baden , in 1978 he moved to FC Rastatt 04 in the newly created Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

In 1979, Heck moved on to the San Diego Sockers as a professional player in the North American Soccer League (NASL) . At the side of the German compatriots Peter Nover , Gert Wieczorkowski , Peter Lechermann , Jean Willrich and Volkmar Groß , he won the Western Division in 1979 with the team coached by Hubert Vogelsinger , but lost the conference final against the Tampa Bay Rowdies . After just one year he returned to Germany, where he played for SC Pfullendorf in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg from 1980/81 to 1983/1984 . In 1984 he moved to league rivals SV Kuppenheim , with whom he was relegated at the end of the 1984/85 season. From 1985/86 to 1988/89 he was a player-coach at the Baden regional league club FC Lichtental, which was relegated to the district league in 1986 and was promoted again in 1988. From 1992/93 to 1993/94 he was again the coach of FC Lichtental.

In 2003, Heck took over the coaching position at 1. FC Pforzheim , where he worked until 2005. He later coached SV Langensteinbach, from 2010 FC Rastatt 04 and from 2013 to May 2016 the football association league club SV Linx .

Heck lived with his wife in Malsch near Rastatt. He died of a heart attack in 2018 at the age of 63 .
