The football league Baden-Württemberg 1984/85 was the seventh league season.

The SV Sandhausen sat down finally in a head-to-head race with the VfR Mannheim, and was able to win by a single point the championship. So you were qualified for the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which you missed promotion as the last of the southern group quite clearly. VfR Mannheim took part in the German amateur championship finals and was eliminated in the semifinals against the future amateur champions, the Werder Bremen amateurs.

SV Kuppenheim , SV Göppingen , the amateurs of Karlsruher SC and SV Weil, which had only been promoted from the association league last year, were relegated to the subordinate leagues . In return, the following season 1. FC Pforzheim from the Baden Association League , FC Villingen 08 from the Südbaden Association League and SSV Reutlingen from the Württemberg Association League rose directly as the respective relay champions. The FV Lauda from the Baden Association League qualified on the promotion round of the runner-up .

    As a master of Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg SV Sandhausen met in the promotion round to 2. Bundesliga on SpVgg Bayreuth , Viktoria Aschaffenburg and FSV SALMROHR . After only one win, one draw but four defeats, the Badeners finished last in their group with 10:13 goals and 3: 9 points and thus clearly missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
