Harald Kohr (born March 14, 1962 in Trier ) is a former German soccer player and coach .

Career

Kohr began his sporting career in youth teams of the clubs TSC Pfalzel , SV Ruwer and SV Mehring . From 1981 to 1986 he played for Eintracht Trier .

In 1986 he moved to the former Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern , where he remained under contract until 1989. During this time Kohr completed 86 games in the Bundesliga and scored 45 goals.

As early as 1988, FC Bayern Munich tried to sign the exceptional striker for 3 million DM, but failed at FCK. In 1989, Kohr finally attracted the interest of several well-known Bundesliga clubs and finally decided to move to VfB Stuttgart , who paid a transfer fee of DM 1.6 million for Kohr. There he was released on July 5th, four days after the start of the season, due to a knee injury he had suffered in the previous season. Kohr then moved to Switzerland and played for one season with Grasshoppers Zurich . This season, the club , which was then coached by Ottmar Hitzfeld , became both Swiss champions and cup winners, which is Kohr's greatest sporting success to date.

In the following season he returned to the Bundesliga and appeared in eleven games (one goal) for SG Wattenscheid 09 . In 1991, however, he had to end his active career due to a sports disability.

Since then Kohr has been working in the coaching sector. In 1991 he acquired the A license and since 1993 he has been a state-recognized soccer teacher. From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a youth head coach at Eintracht Trier and in the 1996/97 season as a coach at SV Leiwen .

In 1997 he moved to the Luxembourg national division and trained for one season CS Grevenmacher , with whom he became the Luxembourg Cup winner. In 1998 he took over the youth department of TuS Issel and in 2005 he was coach of the first team for the Luxembourg record champion Jeunesse Esch from July to December , before the contract was terminated after differences with the board. In the 2015/16 season, Kohr was briefly once again active as an assistant trainer for the women of TuS Issel. In the meantime, Kohr was also active as a DFB base coach.

In addition, from 1993 to 1995 Kohr acquired the state-certified sports teacher at the European Academy of Rhineland-Palatinate Sports in Trier and has worked as a sports therapist since 1996. Since 1999 he has also been the DFB base coach at the Mehring base, and since August 1, 2008 with Lotto Rhineland-Palatinate . Kohr is also active in the traditional team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
