Harald Kracht

Harald Kracht (born July 5, 1927 in Schleswig ; † January 1, 2018 in Fahrdorf ) was a German educator and founder and long-time chairman of the DLRG Youth .

Live and act

Kracht was born in Schleswig in 1927 as the son of a teacher. After graduating from high school in 1948, he first worked for a year as an assistant teacher and then studied at the Flensburg University of Education . From 1950 he first worked as a teacher in Rendsburg. In 1960 he took over the management of the school and later became the school principal. From 1984 he was school councilor of the Schleswig-Flensburg district . In 1992 he initially retired, but then took on a headmaster position in the new federal states for a year.

He was committed to the Schleswig-Holsteinische Heimatbund and was also a member of the board from 1984. In the Bund Deutscher Nordschleswiger , Kracht was election committee chairman from 1979 to 1984 and was a member of the business committee.

DLRG youth

Kracht had been a member of the German Life Saving Society since his youth . As early as the early 1950s, he began to implement his views on optimal youth work in the DLRG and, together with others, founded the youth association of the DLRG Schleswig-Holstein in 1952. From 1961 Harald Kracht was federal youth warden of the DLRG and in 1962 founded the youth of the German life-saving society. He held the office until 1977.
