action

The story is based on a true story, the kidnapping of a Hong Kong businessman. He feels threatened by a gang of criminals and therefore gets Inspector Chan as a bodyguard. At first the inspector does not believe that the threat is serious, but then the businessman Wong is actually kidnapped. During the chase between the police and the kidnappers, a police officer dies.

Inspector Chan feels guilty and does everything he can to free the kidnapper, but for some reason the criminals are always one step ahead of him. Until Chan finds out the reason for it: the leader of the criminals and Chan's superior Hung are one and the same person. Chan now sets out alone to save the businessman. Finally, there is a duel with Hung, in which he, lying dying, reveals the whereabouts of Wong. Rescued, Wong leaves Hong Kong and never returns.

criticism

“A coarse-knit action thriller, characterized by countless brutal brawls, shootings and car chases, which leaves little room for logic and characters. It is worth noting that it captures something of the fears and hopes associated with the impending return of Hong Kong to China . "

Frames

There is an alternative version for Singapore, which has been expanded to include three extra scenes with TV actress Pan Ling Ling.
