The Harrah's Las Vegas is a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip . Like most hotels on the Strip, it is in the Paradise area . It was named after the previous owner, Harrah's Entertainment, a company that was merged into Caesars Entertainment . There is a stop for the Las Vegas Monorail at the rear of the hotel .

The hotel was built in 1973, and first opened under the name Holiday Casino . In 1977 the casino was renovated and given the carnival theme. In 1992 it was renamed Harrah's Las Vegas .

There are other hotels and casinos named Harrah’s in other cities.
