Harry Clifton Heaton
Harry Clifton Heaton (born March 21, 1885 in Waterbury , Connecticut , † December 28, 1950 in Tuckahoe , New York ) was an American Romance philologist , Hispanist and Catalanist .
Life
Heaton graduated from Yale University in 1907. Then he spent three years in Paris and Madrid . In 1916 he received his doctorate from Columbia University with the work (ed.) The Gloria d'amor of Fra Rocaberti. A catalan vision-poem of the 15th century (New York 1916, 1966). From 1910 he taught at New York University , from 1927 as a professor.
Heaton was a corresponding member of the Real Academia Española .
