The Hartenbach is a three kilometer long left and south tributary of the Wied in the Rhineland-Palatinate Westerwaldkreis .

course

The Hartenbach rises at an altitude of about 413  m above sea level. NN near Hohenborn in the corridor on the Heide . It first crosses under the B 8 , then flows about eight hundred meters parallel to another source branch in a northerly direction through a forest meadow landscape and then joins the second, somewhat smaller source stream in the Flur Im Bremenstall . Shortly afterwards it is fed first on the right, then on the left by two small streams. The Hartenbach now flows through the forest in the uppermost Hartenbach west of the Salzberg farm. South of the corridor Auf Zansbruch , a tributary strengthens it from the right. He now runs between the corridors In the lowest Hartenbach and Auf der Hansenwies . There he receives another feed on his right side. His path now leads through coniferous forest in a north-westerly direction to the right of the Im Wolfssprung corridor and to the left of In der Eichenfeldwiese . At Im Eichenfeld another brook flows into it on the left. The Hartenbach now moves at the western foot of the Köpfchen ( 425.2  m above sea level ) through the Welchenau and finally flows out about a kilometer west of Steinebach an der Wied at an altitude of about 344  m above sea level. NN from the left into the Wied .
